Pikes Peak Community College?

Hello,

I have requested info from the college and hunted their catalog as well as the program website to try and find this information beforehand. Does PPCC's ADN nursing program offer evening classes or hybrid courses for their program? Moving to Colorado and depending on whether they do or not changes everything. Thank you

Pikes Peak Community College is for the most part daytime only. Lectures and labs are generally between 8 AM and 4 PM Monday through Friday. Clinicals start halfway through the first semester and continue throughout the program except for summer semester, which is Pharmacology II only. First semester clinicals are 8 hours either from 6:30 AM to 3 PM or 3:30 PM to midnight (varies by clinical site). I don't know details for later semesters, but at some point clinicals will cover the overnight shift as well. Saturdays and Sundays are not scheduled for either classes or clinicals. They do permit students to hold jobs while attending school, but they strongly recommend working weekends only since students must be flexible to meet at any time of day or night Monday through Friday. This may sound daunting, but I recommend that you look into PPCC if this is at all compatible with your circumstances. PPCC is very highly regarded in the region: they're rated #1 in Colorado out of all nursing programs, their NCLEX pass rates are very high (over 97% for 10 years running and several years were 100%), the school is extremely competitive so graduates are more sought after, we have a reputation for being more proactive in clinicals, and hospitals along the Front Range preferentially hire PPCC students. Did this provide the answers you needed?

Good luck in your studies!

Yes it did! Thank you, it helped greatly. I am in the military and trying to get my RN but it's the same as working a full time job with nursing which is fine by me, I just need to find a school that offers evening classes. But thank you very much for that answer, again helped greatly. Very much appreciated!

I don't know of any other nursing programs in this area that would do evening only classes, but you might want to look into Pueblo Community College or Colorado State University in Pueblo. Many people commute down to Pueblo for work or school, especially if you live near Fort Carson.
