I make only $24 an hour, and I've been a nurse in the same hospital for 5 years.

Sometimes I feel as if I'm at the wrong hospital. I currently make 28.50 an hour. I get no OT since I am salary. I figured that I make less in this current position (Nurse Mgr. ) than I did on the floor. At least there I received the differincial. Now I just work 24/7. If I'm not at work I'm on the phone. And, its my cell. I'm seriously thinking about travel nursing. My husband and I are 5 years from retiring and we would like to travel.

What is an LVN?
LVN is equivalent to LPN
They are called one or the other depending on what state you are in. CA and I believe one other state calls them Licensed Vocational Nurses.

Ouch!! I only make $18.96 per hour in LTC with 35 yrs experience. But then I only paid $3,000 for my one bedroom house, too.
No typo- three zeroes!

In some communities, the lowest bracket may not be low enough.
Really? I think that is absolutely disgusting.:angryfire I mean, we are dealing with people's lives, not cleaning houses. I say this because I use to clean houses and I made $15 an hour! When I worked at a deli in college, I made $10 and hour and received free work shirts and free food!
OT: Sharlynn, are there still homes available under $10,000?
There are many available if you don't mind small and old and small town living. I mean REALLY small. The village I live in is about six square blocks. I can hear cows mooing if I have the windows open! I drive 35 miles to work- all country, but state highway or the Interstate. I used to drive that far in Little Rock, all city with stoplights every other block. What a difference!!
