Subscription instead of prescription. Yikes.

Obstipation is a real word. It means severe constipation.

You are absolutely right now that I have put it out there, that obstipation is a real word. But to be fair and a little (maybe a lot) nitpicky, it describes a situation of prolonged severe constipation that suggests an obstruction is near, rather than an actual diagnosis. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

I work with a nurse who abbreviates acetaminophen as ASAP, instead of APAP.

We had a nurse document that a pt was on "hormoans"

"open laceration"

I see that all the time lol.

What about "dipsnea" instead of pronouncing it as "disp-nea"??

I have a fellow nurse who calls me by the wrong name. She calls me Diana, Dena, Donna... Anything but DANA. It isn't that hard, call me by the right name please. She claims it is to hard to remember....how about looking at my name tag?

*too hard to remember

The dress code at one nursing job banned clothes that were "tethered." I think they meant "tattered."
