Offered 1st Nursing job today

:no:Hi everyone I just have some questions, I was offered my 1st job today, I finished classes the 1st week of March. They are offering me a position as a student nurse until I sit for boards at a rate of $14/hr with a $1/hr shift diff, also they say they will pay for boards and a review class. After boards they will increase the rate to $16/hr until I start their RN residency then $18, my issue is that another hospial starting pay is $18/hr plus time and a half for the weekend option (which is what I would like) and you can work at that wage as an aide until boards, I am just confused as to what to do both offer the 403b and some other similar stuff but with the flexcredits and the fact that you can get $3/hr more if you dont use their insurance which I am forunate enough not to need? Any advice.....Please.

I know it is tempting to look at this from an immediacy perspective. Look at the long term. 1. where do you want to work, aside from pay and benefits? The fact one hospital does not pay well until you are fully licensed should not be the deciding factor. That is a very short term solution to a long term situation.

However, if you like the hospital that pays students and new grads well and you have no problem with changing jobs should the other hospital become more attractive to you later then go with that one.
