Nursing Poems, Prayers, and Stories

Nurses General Nursing

Published

i save these when i find them, and i thought it might make a good thread to share nursing poems, stories, prayers, or anything else we've come across.....

i'll start with one of my favorites :D

being a nurse means

you will never be bored

you will always be frustrated

you will be surrounded by challenges.

so much to do and so little time

you will carry immense responsibility

and limited authority.

you will step into people's lives

and you will make a difference.

some will bless you,

some will curse you.

you will see people at their worst

and at their best.

you will never cease to be amazed

at people's capacity for

love, courage, and endurance.

you will experience resounding triumphs

and devastating failures.

you will cry a lot.

you will laugh a lot.

you will know what it is to be human

and to be humane.

here's a prayer i really like too.........

place your healing touch in my hands

unknown author

help me as i care

for my patients today,

be there with me,

o lord, i pray

make my words kind

--it means so much--

and in my hands place

your healing touch

let your love shine

through all that i do,

so those in need

may hear and feel you.
