Is nursing hard on a marriage, specifically the work hours? Is the divorce rate high in nursing?

I am in nursing school right now and working part time at a hospital. My husband is seriously borderline Aspbergers and schizophrenic, and when I first started, he was having major depression issues due to a severe accident he had suffered. Thank God, he is not depressed anymore, but the intense need for a set schedule and designated time off will never not be an issue. I've just determined that my family is number one...period. He has been AMAZING about helping out when I need time to study or have to work or whatever, and likewise if he needs me to be there, it's not a question. Marriage is hard work, but if you truly love each other and prove it in your actions, it is more than doable.

I would think it would in some ways make things easier, if your full time 12 hr shifts, you only work 3 days a week. But if your working nights or total opposite shifts of your spouse and you never see them then that can affect things sure. But in my current job, I self schedule, 12 hr days so its pretty kush. Yeah i gotta work some weekends and holidays but thats not a big deal, I dont work every holiday
