Hi,

I'm new here. I just found out about this website after I took my Nclex a few days ago. I was so nervous but after I spent some time here, I felt much better and was able to sleep while waiting for my result. I was thrilled to find out that I passed!! Thank you all for sharing your experience and stories.

Here's the problem, and I'm getting really nervous again! My primary state of residence is Hawaii (non-compact state). I've had my nursing school in Virginia (compact state) and will eventually change my primary state of residence to Virginia. I applied for Virginia license. On my license it says "Valid only in Virginia, expires 2009" instead of "multi-state priviledge, expires 2007".

Will this impact my working status in Virginia as a state employee (I work in a state facility)? I hope they'll continue to let me work. It looks complicated. I'm getting nervous again OMG!

How can I inform BON later on that I changed my primary state of residence? Will the change affect the status of my license? (i.e. changing it to "multi-state privilege"?)

Thank you

change addresses.

I live in a non-compact state, so I have a license for the neighboring state (where I work) and I have just applied for a license for where I live.

As long as you have a valid license for whichever state you are employed in, you are fine. Find out through the board of nursing for VA what you need to do to change addresses. It should be right on their website.

Welcome to allnurses!
