Not following rules- vent

I would like to vent on people not following rules and policies.

Some nurses let guests stay past visiting hours and when the other nurses uphold it, we now are the bad guys.

Our unit nit is closed during shift change and some patients have figured out some trigger phrases to get around it- "I'm bringing the patient his dinner", etc.

We have contact precautions for our entire unit and some guests don't gown and glove every time OR they don't take off the gown and gloves when out in the hallway or in the public patient nourishment room.

GRR.

That is terribly frustrating! That is one of my biggest pet peeves.

I'm trying to get past the wearing a contact precaution gown in a patient food area. Yikes!!

I can't help with the visitor situation but the failing to adhere to contact precautions, notify your Infection Contol Office! They will fix it for you.
