As a nephrology nurse I dialyse many patients who are waiting for a kidney transplant with the knowledge that we have such a low donation rate. It would be fantastic if we are able to reduce the odds of long term rejection in transplanted organs, so that everyone could have a transplanted kidney that lasted 20-30 years. Reduced doses of anti-rejection drugs would improve their quality of life after transplantation.
A great story, lets hope it fulfills its promise.
