Hello all,

On Monday I'm starting a new PCU job in a hospital. I haven't had a permanent RN job for more than six months. I've done a few per diem shifts but nothing since then since I've moved around a lot and have had things happen.

I am looking forward to it but am nervous. What if I've forgotten everything? I used to feel really good on the floor, confident in my abilities, and a was a resource to many on the floor. Now I feel like I can be no resource.

Any suggestions on what to do? I could subscribe to a nursing journal I suppose...what else that doesn't cost money?

Thanks to all!!

You could study for your PCCN, but I'm pretty sure you'll be quite busy just learning the ropes on your new unit. Consider the PCCN later down the road. Congrats!
