New Nurses in the US

Nurses General Nursing

The way to sort out NUrse training and indeed the shortage of personnel is to subsidize Nurse training to the point where it is affordable to those people who want to be Nurses and end up doing the shorter cheaper courses. In the UK the job that CNA's do isn't even a registered qualfication except to those who have sone a rather pointless vocational course. the point. you might as well get he best Nurses you can. Considering that in the UK our union is extremely docile and weak to the government even though we have your Beverly Malone.we get paid less that plumbers carpenters and possibly bin men but there are still large numbes of people going into the course. BECAUSE IT'S FREE!!!!!!!!!!:)

Jay - what's the point of this post? I don't understand what you're saying!!

I think that the point being made is, if training in the United States was cheaper (partly paid by the govt) or if your students were to recieve a bursary. In the England students recieve approximately 700 Dollars a month, this may help to relieve the nursing shortage in the U.S.

Although training is free in England and the students recieve a bursuary and there is still a nursing shortage. I personally believe that higher pay is the only way to attract new recruits to the profession.

In California we have fee waivers and grants. Even book grants. It is not that people can't afford at least in the state of California it is the won't get off they orifice and do mentality. I understand there is a lot of money for nursing or education for that matter. Money is not an issue in America the lazy mind of certain individuals is........
