Nurses General Nursing

Is on right now (started at 1am PDT).

Check your local listings, not sure if/when it will be aired again.

The episode follows Nursing supervisors at St. Joseph's, a level I trauma center in Phoenix, AZ.

Very frank discussion as the ER supervisor tried to find beds for patient backed up in the ER as she contemplates requesting they go on divert, and the house supervisor as she works to move patients around the hospital to clear beds for the more critical patients backed up in the ER.

Repeatedly discusses the shortage of nurses.

Some discussion of the abuse of the ER for non-emergancies and its impact on patient care & cost.

Very highly recommend. I would love to see it aired on network television during primetime.
