So, I am currently working on getting my CNA license in Texas. My husband just got his orders to Germany and we will be moving in March. How do I go about transferring my license from Texas to there? I would assume that because we will be on a U.S. Military base that it wouldn't be totally out of the question, but I could be wrong. If anybody has any information for me, please let me know!!

Hi :)

Congrats on the new orders! Germany is a great duty station!

So, my answer revolves around my license, but I assume it will work the same for the CNA aspect of things. I originally got my license in MO, however at each duty station, I did not have to get a new one as long as I worked on post. The few states I decided to work off post, I did have to get my license endorsed in those states.

Again, I'm not 100% if it works the same for CNAs, but I can't see why it wouldn't. I'm also at a loss as to how it would translate in the German healthcare system if you decided to try to work off post. You could try to ask during your moving brief, but I don't know if they'd know either.

Good luck and have a great time!

Will you have your CNA license before you move? Assuming you live near a military post....check out your post's career center and I would ask them. They may be able to answer your question(s) and assist you with this matter.
