lpn to paramedic???

Quick question, I just graduated PN school and ultimately want to have my MSN and be a flight nurse, but thats gonna be a while. Anyways, does anyone know if there is such a thing as a LPN to paramedic course? If not, would a paramedic course be a breeze since I'm already a nurse? Would some of my credits transfer?.....Or, should I worry about becoming a paramedic after I finish my RN?(which I plan on starting in the next year) Any feedback would be awesome.

I don't know any specifics, but do you really need to become a paramedic to become a flight nurse? I have never heard of that. Don't flight nurses need ICU or ER experience? You would be taking a fairly large paycut becoming a paramedic.

I don't think that there are any lpn-paramedic courses. And no from all accounts becoming a paramedic is not a breeze. You also don't need to become one in oder to do flight nursing.

Go to the flight nurse forum, there are multiple threads on what the requirements are for flight nursing.

    Advanced Trauma Life Support (audit)**
Licensed EMT-P in the State of Ohio**
    Pediatric Advanced Life Support
**Must be completed within one year of employment

Physical requirements - must meet visual, auditory, and weight specifications. Must pass a physical exam utilizing department criteria.

Experience - has a minimum of three years recent active experience in an Emergency Department or other Intensive Critical Care areas. Pre-hospital/transport experience recommended."

Ironically I'm in Ohio, and want to end up at Metro Health in Cleveland.
