So I was "fired" about 10 years ago from an STNA position where someone accused me of saying "if he hits me, ill hit him back" to a patient. I disagreed with the DON and told her the nurse that accused me of that just got done saying how this individual was nasty and smelled like piss. I remember the incident to this day because of how bad the LPN acted and for whatever reason blamed me

for it.

I don't know if there was anything formal after that, investigation wise, but I continued to be an STNA for about a year after that (I moved on to a different field).

Now, I've graduated with my BA in healthcare management and want to do an internship at a nursing home for my nursing home administrators license. How can I find out if this will be an issue once I get going? Am I able to find out if I was ever in imvestigated for this?

Specializes in ambulant care.

Hhhmmm...

Take a look. Visit the care home. Talk with the staff and the residents.

And if it feels good, place a canditature. (Keyword undercover)

The human resources office will likely have record that you were terminated and the reasons for the termination. you should probably avoid having anything to do with that nursing home.
