WOW !!! So many hospitals are hurting and there is one that is talking layoffs !!!
Is it a redesign thing?
Are there other hospitals in the area that would love to get some nurses?

What do you want to bet this has everything to do with the airlines downsizing (with Boeing in Seattle). Ouch! Good luck to all the nurses over there!

Chuckie, is the hospital that over staffed that they have to lay-off nurses? Has the patient census been down? Are they going to close units? What else can you tell us about the hospital's financial situation?

Hey give us the name and location of the hospital and maybe someone can find out how much the CEO has been bringing among other things.
Every time I hear this kind of thing it is usually followed by a pay or benefit cut, but interesting enough the CEO and others at the top seem to get an increase. In other words the old "cut the operating budget" to meet the expected/projected profit forecast scenario.

Well, com'on out to southwestern Pennsylvania! Cost of living is affordable and you'll find a job in no time...you can call me personally!
It's just amazing that a hospital would be laying off...sounds to me like it must be close to hitting the skids if it's letting nurses go.

That suc%s! Laying off Nurses. Sheesh.
"Not enough PCAs"...translates to Nurses cost twice as much as PCAs.
They are going to regret this big time.......I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the shjt hits the fan in about 6 months.
I'd want to say I TOLD YOU SO!!

Which hospital? I just moved last year from the west coast and worked for Swedish, and next year we move back to the west coast. What is the scoop on jobs over there?
