My job is switching to a high deductible plan as our only insurance option next year. The up side its much much cheaper and the down side is having to pay for services at the beginning of the year.

I have to get lab test quarterly and the lab (hospital lab) my dr uses charges more than 3000 for CBC/w Diff, A1c, Lipid profile, Vit D, TSH, complete metabolic panel, urine and urine culture. Is quest or lab core much cheaper?????

I asked Quest and the lady at the desk said "the company will bill you" and lab core said about the same thing.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Call customer service. Tell them you are paying cash and need to know the bill rates. Legally you have a right to know cost up front.
