Nursing is a great career and very rewarding, but it is also a fluidy, blood, "gross", stressful, dirty, "what the heck am I doing here" kinda job. Shadow what the other say. Shadow a nurse(s).....See what we really do......it is fun, come on in. Volunteer in a nursing home/hospital. Get you CNA if you don't have it. Work as a CNA or a transporter or anything within the setting of your choice to get your feet wet, gain experience and ease........

It isn't easy, but it is worth it, if it is what you want.......

Or kittie, volunteer at your local hospital. Visit people in a nursing home. Ask any one that you know that happens to be a nurse (or in any aspect of the medical profession) to describe thier job to you. And always, come back to allnurses.com and ask questions!:)
