I'am not a student nurse yet, but I cant wait to become one I just wanted to ask one question do nurses deal with blood work or giving needles:imbar

Yes nurses do both..
is it all the time ... isnt a biotechnician is suppose to handle that

Yes, it is normal to be scared for awhile...but the more you do it, the more comfortable you will get. Generally, you'll take a class to learn how to do these things, and the class members will practice on each other so you can get a little more comfortable before actually going out and attacking patients.

kittie i suggest you shadow a nurse (or several) to help you gain a real perspective on what we do. Your questions are valid but we cannot begin to illustrate exactly what nursing IS on a bulletin board. I wish you well.

Welcome Kitty! These nurses here are so helpful! I agree about the shadowing idea, also my facility told me " just call lab, the will get it" I have done that once,it is easier sometimes just to get it yourself-you know its getting done Good Luck!
