- by Nurseleo29 Dec 3, '12I just started my lvn position in a snf facility. I was giving my pt the tb vaccine when the bevel came out and some of the vaccine got on my face. This pt is hep c positive! I know hep c is transmitted through needle sharing and is blood Bourne. But should I be worried!!??? I'm scared. Can anyone give me Any feedback.

We cannot give medical advice on this website. You should file an incident report with your facility and go through the proper precations, if precautions are required.
- Dec 4, '12 by Esme12I am so sorry you are going through this.....as stated we cannot give medical advice. You need to check with you primary care physician. If you are in the US there is a standard protocol that is followed for blood/body fluid exposure. Your facility should have procedure in place......check the policy and notify your immediate supervisor.
