my best friend of nearly eighteen years gave birth! she and her husband welcomed their first child, a girl, arianna jasmine, at 7:40 pm on may 9, 2008, weighing in at 7 lbs., 11 oz., and is 20 3/4" long. baby is fine, mom had a second degree tear but was happy to have delivered lady partslly.

the baby came home on sunday but her pediatrician sent her to the children's hospital this morning. my best friend noticed she hadn't had many wet diapers yet (she had a lot of dirty diapers) and the pediatrician noticed that she had some cyanosis around the mouth during feeding. her oxygen saturation was dropping during feeding, especially from a bottle. so she's having cardiac, respiratory and gi workups and is on maitenence fluids. (i don't know all of the details, this is from what mom & dad told me and neither have a healthcare background).
