Full-time job & wanting per diem

currently have a full-time job, but getting canceled more often than i would like to be.

would it be wrong to be looking into a per diem job to make up the hours?

how would i go about asking my manager to be a reference for my per diem job application?

how do i go about editing my resume? do i still leave my clinicals experience or start all new with my current job?

thank you.

When working for more than one company, I divide the week between the two of them. For example, my availability for one company is Tuesday and Wednesday, and the other company can choose from the other days. You don't want two companies thinking they can schedule you for the same day.

For my per diem job, I fill out the calendar with the dates and shifts I am available. Once I accept a shift for my prn job in the facility I am employed, I mark the per diem calendar as not available.

I had explained to my DON prior to applying for the per diem that I wanted to go on weekends only and combine that with a per diem job as well as prn with them. She had no problem doing the reference. Just let your manager know that you are doing this to pick up hours when you aren't working your scheduled hours. I would think this person would go ahead and fill out the reference. Hey, they just might not cancel your hours as much going forward either.
