DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE IS ANY PROGRAM IN NORTH CAROLINA FOR NURSING STUDENTS SIMILAR TO THE PROGRAM AVAILABLE FOR TEACHING STUDENTS WHERE THEY CAN GET A GRANT FOR THEIR EDUCATION EXPENSES IF THEY AGREE TO TEACH IN NC FOR SO MANY YEARS?

Hi, I just graduated from UNCW. I think there are "loans" you can get and if you agree to work in NC for a few years after graduation or if you agree to work in NC rural areas your "loans" are forgiven. I beleive, the loans are called the "Perkins loan" and the "NC Math & Science loan". I also think if you serve in the military after graduation sometimes they will forgive your loans, and of course there is always the reserves-they also help pay college tuition. I found that at UNCW if you received decent grades and were "financially needy", there was money out there to help you: grants, scholarships, loans...

Just remember, there is money out there-it just needs to be found!
Good Luck,
