Curious: Any increase in cardiac related ER visits since MJ died?

I was just curious if anyone noticed an increase in people presenting to their ERs with "cardiac" symptoms?

I don't work in the ED yet, but on our cardiac floor, no we have not seen an increase in "chest pain r/o MI" patients. In fact, right now, our census is quite low.

I was thinking more like people coming in who did not necessarily have a cardiac issue but thought they might.

I know it isn't the same thing but when news of H1N1 was crazy some people were saying that their ERs were inundated. I wouldn't expect that exactly but am interested in how news events feature in increased in ER visits (more specifically false alarm type visits). It would be cool to know.

There is a big difference between an outbreak of an influenza historic for causing massive mortality, and the sudden death of a pathetic, obscure curiosity who most people learned to ignore long ago. Face it, honestly, how long had it been since you last thought about MJ before he died?

Yep. I work on a telemetry floor, but a buddy of mine works in the ER. He personally saw 4 cases Friday who wrote something similar to "Anxiety/chest pain/depression because MJ died.":

I think the poster's question should have been asked and then you should have stopped at that.

You personally may not have thought about him but there are people all around the world who cared for his music and considered him to be a great and positively influential person uniting people of all races and cultures. To call him pathetic is to make yourself look the same. At the end of the day, he was someone's brother, father, friend, donor, role model, etc.

Show respect or simply enlighten yourself a bit, if for nothing else, to alleviate the hatefulness in your heart.

I am interested more in how news events affect ERs. Sorry you didn't get that but no meed to jump down someone's throat.
