Collecting info for potential book

  1. 0 Hi! I am working on a potential book.. we'll see if it ever comes to fruition, but I would like to use a variety of nurses quotes or advice. If you want to add your two cents, just tag on the city and state you are from, what unit you work on, and what shift you work on. No names will be used.

    Topics:

How do you stay in shape/healthy?

How do you cope with stress?

How do you manage your family and working during the holidays?

Do you use a fanny pack to carry supplies?

Do you suffer from back pain? Have you found any solutions?

Working nights? What are the best ways to get good sleep during the day?

How do you manage your personal life when you work nights?

I'm Rebecca from Chicago, IL. I worked day shift Med/surg until recently.

Running around on the unit. No need for a gym membership, just pick up an extra shift! Also, I always pack my lunch so I can plan for healthy food the night before and not order out.

Do you use a fanny pack to carry supplies?
    No, just big pockets

Work hard, and there won't be any problem falling asleep. Or Benadryl.

A fanny pack??? really? I haven't seen, let alone *used* a fannypack since grade school in the nineties.

Yes I have bad back/neck pain...

I cope with stress by relaxing with friends and time alone....

    I work LTC

Yes! I have seen two registry nurses rolling in with a supply stocked fanny pack and they swear by it! I was curious if other people do this. For me I think it would get in the way.
