CNA - LPN Program, just starting

I have been lurking here for a while too. I got in to an LPN program that starts in January also. I am thinking you may be on to something to get some experience before school starts. Where are you going to school? I got accepted at PHCC in New Port Richey, FL and am waiting to see about my funding.

I am following a similair route. I just finished my CNA and got certfied, I just found a position at an LTC until I can find one at a hospital that will help pay for me to get my RN.

I'm in Texas, and for my test it was on the actual residents at the nursing home. I was the first of 8 to go test I had Ambulation, weight, and dependent mouth care. I was so nervous, but I remembered safety and privacy everything else fell into place. I used a prep book and the notes from my class along with the handbook from the state. I wrote out flash cards for each skill and just kept going through them until I knew them by memory. LOL so long story short it wasn't too hard. I practiced my skills on my son, my boyfriend, even my dad let me shave him. I'd do anything you can to practice on a live person if your going to be testing on actual people as well.

Just study and be confident and you will do great. Keep me updated as well
