If you are working/worked during nursing school as a CNA, what were your hours like? How many days a week did you work and what kind of facility? Was it easy to balance the work load with your schooling? Thank you so much!!!!!

Nothing worth fighting for is easy.I worked as an aide on evening shift, did not have a full time position but worked any time they called me.I often worked several weeks without a day off.I worked with two aides who did work full time evenings as well.We all went to class full time during the day and then straight to work.We worked in LTC.They let us come in a bit late.I don't know how we did it,but we did.I listen to some of the young ladies working as aides and going to school now,I have never heard so much whining in my life!.I loved every minute of it and still had time to go out on the weekend.....

Although I never worked as a CNA during school, I'll answer this question because I did work full-time as an LVN while completing an associate degree nursing program.

I worked two 16-hour double shifts every Saturday and Sunday at a nursing home. The weekend double schedule was nice because it enabled me to earn 32 hours of pay every week and have Monday through Friday off to attend school.

I do it now full time and it comes down to working ahead in school so I'm not overwhelmed. Only during clinical times does it get intense without days off

You guys are awesome! Thank you!
