cna and nursing school

I start bsn school in the fall(2004). I thought about taking a cna class and working this summer to get some experience in a health care setting. Do you think working as a cna will help me during nursing school? Also, do you think I should keep working through the first semester or take time off after the summer and just focus on school? I don't know how difficult the 1st semester will be, so I'm kind of afraid to keep working+I have 2 small kids.
