Asking for Advice!

Hi. I am new here and need some help and advice.

I graduated LVN nursing school in February 2012. I took the NCLEX once and did not pass it.

My family found out that my father had colon/liver cancer in the summer of 2012. He had to have emergency colonostomy surgery to save his life. Then, my sister decided to take a job 800 miles away from her husband and children. We found out a few months later that she was living with an old boyfriend, and was pursuing that. This left me alone to care from my father and mother, as my mom also has health issues. So, I was caring for them, holding down a job, and taking on my other responsibilities as husband and father. We lost my Dad to the cancer 7 months ago, my Mom is doing better health-wise, and I (along with her children) do not have a relationship with my sister. I began seeing a counselor to help me deal with all the drastic changes in my life and it has helped, not totally, but it has helped. My life is much stabler now, except for one thing, I still have not passed the NCLEX. I am desperate to do so. So, my question is this, Is it too late for me to do so? Do I still have a chance? Can anyone recommend a good review/study course of any kind? I would seriously appreciate any help and advice that you can offer! I feel like I am at the end of my rope and things are not getting better. Thanks in advance!

You need to first check with your state board of nursing. Some states mandate you pass the NCLEX within three years of graduation. Others will require you to take a prep or refresher class first.
