Anatomy & Physiology Study Aids

Grey's Anatomy coloring book is great for learning different muscles, bones etc. I think it was helpful to consult several different A&P books, websites etc. after studying the text to see the same info in different formats. Also its been a few years but I do remember that the hardest part is learning the terminology--it take much longer to read the text when your constantly looking things up. I remember thinking A&PII was much easier because I had most of the terminology down. Taken a biology course previously?? That would help too.

The odd thing is that my school requires taking "The Basics of A & P" before taking A & P 1 and 2... so I think that the basics class teaches some of the terminology!

I just finished my first year of A&P and I used a number of websites that provided sample exams, video, and all kinds of useful information. Unfortunately, I do not have all the websites (my computer crashed), but just do a search at www.google.com for the topic and you will find some really good stuff.

I also used the website provided by the textbook publisher. I did the sample exams and it had exercises to help you memorize key facts.

But, the most important tool that helped me was the "illustrated notebook" that came with the text. It had B&W pictures corresponding to the text that I colored with colored pencils and labeled. If you are a visual person, this study aid will really help. If not, it's still a useful exercise to help understand some of the more complex systems.
