Advice on how to leave job

I recently accepted a position at a LTC facility. As in I have been there about a week. They pay well, but no benefits, and they are severely understaffed.

I interviewed for a hospital floor position a couple months ago and was convinced I wouldnt hear from them again because of the time that had gone by.

Well needless the say the hospital is offering me a job with full benefits and better pay - so no doubt I would be stupid to not accept it.

My question is, should I still give two weeks to the LTC? Im afraid it will be almost a waste of their time and mine since Im still so green there? But at the same time I dont want to put them in a bind since I am on the schedule. Any advice?

Always offer 2 weeks notice. It is up to the manager if they want to take you up on that offer or not. Always word your resignation letter very vague and positive "This letter is to inform you of my resignation, with last day worked to be XXX. I appreciate the opportunity XX facility has given me and wish them the best. Sincerely XXX"
