A Day In A Nurse's Life

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hello everyone!

I am collecting real stories for a web documentary project.

The central point must be a specific date (month, day, year) in your life you cannot forget. It can be anything but the outcome has to be a learning experience. As a nurse I am sure you have some dates you cannot forget. Would you like to share them?

The most obvious dates are birthdays and anniversaries but if you tell me " I got married on June 27th 1962 and I have been happy thereafter" good for you but it will not be enough.

It can be the day you moved to another country or the day you had an accident which turned out to be a learning experience or the day when an event changed your life forever.

Please feel free to write me at [email protected] and I will keep in touch with you!

Thank you very much for reading my message,

Jean

My Web Documentary

Hmmmm......

Let's see, how many days to I get to actually EAT lunch or pee? Another staff meeting, another line of crap. Patient's family coming? Let me get my roller skates and dunce cap. Demanding/degrading physician.....what's new? Anything else anyone can add to my typical ICU day?

To the nice lady writing the documentary...good luck to you. I hope you find some nurses with NICE things to say. I for one am burned out on the BS and politics and don't feel I could add anything positive to your story. Now, if you wanted to focus on why there is a nursing shortage, start another thread & I'm sure you will be overwhelmed with responses. Have a good day.

Hi Erica,

I didn't know about that. Really tough! What can I say? Take some rest? Relax if you can? or just have a good day :)

It makes me humble.

Tell me what is is?

Of course, you won't get paid for it.

It's ok, you can tell me, really.... :lol2: I won't tell anyone

just be specific

Well I can feel the anger in your voice. >

Anger?? I was asking a question. There was no feeling in it one way or the other.

Really? So my apologies to you. I get some angry answers where people don't get the slicest idea of how much work I put behind my projects.

Also thank you so much to all of you who took the time to write their stories and share them with me. I really feel blessed.

Jean

Oh, like many of us wrote stories for you? How nice! really.

Yes I was surprised because in my research I post my message in different areas of work. It seems like you guys have a lot to share :)

It is also a learning experience for me to better understand what you go through.

Jean

Hi everyone again,

I thought you would like to read one of the beautiful stories I received from nurses:
