Waiting list -St. Pete College & PTEC

U.S.A. Florida

Please, does anyone out there have any idea how long the waiting list is for SPC -RN program or PTEC - LPN program? I am applying to PTEC LPN program then going on through the LPN-RN transient program at SPC. I heard it was much quicker to go that route since I am pressed for time. :uhoh3:

Not sure about PTEC-LPN - call them to find out, but SPC has a waiting list that is 2.5 years long. Good luck!

Thanks, mystic fish. Nobody knows at PTEC, as staff, students & school is currently on vacation until Aug 3rd (they go by Pinellas County schools calendar). With SPC, now I hear it was anywhere up to 3 years and the list changes from time to time as people change their minds (they don't want to wait around). It's a bummer when you want to get things going!

You might try HCC and Erwin in Hillsborough County. HCC's RN program has no waiting list. They take applicants based on GPA of 5 prereq classes. 3.6 was the cutoff for fall 2004. Erwin picks their students by lottery. You apply, and they put all the names in a hat and pick them out. It's a crap shoot, but worth the gamble. Also, there's a private school in St. Pete for LPN. Galen Health Institute or Health Institute of Tampa bay, I think. They're up at 4th St & Gandy Blvd. It's expensive, but they guide you through the financial aid process. They have classes starting each quarter. I work with a gal who went there. Her loan payment is $150/mo.

Thanks Nancy for the valuable info! Will certainly look into this!
