Hello everyone,

I am interested in applying to the accelerated program for this upcoming year (2014). I am planning to start my application within the next few months and would like to hear from those who have already been accepted or are filling out an application as well. If you don't mind sharing your overall GPA, pre-req GPA and any helpful tips you would like to recommend when filling out the application. Although I am not limiting myself to the U, this is the university I have my heart set on so any information is greatly appreciated. Hi everyone! Though I have not received a letter as of yet, in the bottom of the student center under admissions undergraduate nursing, it said admitted. It gave me the choice to accept or decline and also requested a $300 deposit. Is this how you guys paid your deposit? Please advise as I have not gotten my letter in the mail yet and just want to make sure that this confirms my acceptance.

rb8806 and Aa1216- I woke up to the same message this morning!! Congrats to both of you! When I click on the link that says accept and pay deposit, it says I am not granted access yet....I was just trying to figure out how much the deposit was and by what deadline I needed to accept! RB8806- I tried to join the facebook page but I can only "like" it, can you tell me how to join?

Also, do any of you that were accepted live in Miami already? I will be moving from North Florida and need to start looking for places and a roomate! :) Good luck everyone and congrats to all that were accepted! So exciting!!!

Thank you!! That's strange! The deposit is $300 and according to the letter I got in the mail, the deposit must be postmarked by Dec 1, 2013. So you have some time left :)

Someone had suggested we make a "group" on facebook so we are working on that. Either the person helping me with it or myself will post it up here for everyone else to join.

I actually already live in Miami. What part of N. FL are you from? Do you want to live on or off of campus? Im so, so, so excited to start! BTW I have no clue about loans! How do we get them thru UM? Do you know of any scholarships we can apply to?

Yea, I think since it just got posted to my student account, it is still locked for some reason or another. I actually have not gotten any e-mail acceptance or letter in the mail yet, just the notice on my student account so maybe it will just take a couple of days. Thanks for the info on the tuition deposit. I know that there was a scholarship for the program but the application for it was due on October 1, it was for a full tuition as long as you signed a promissory note stating that you would work for UM Health for at least 2 or 3 years after you graduate.

I currently live in Gainesville, FL and I am wanted to live off campus as I have a dog. What about you? Do you want to live on or off campus? I submitted a FAFSA so I am hoping that they will give me information sometime soon about what type of loans/ scholarships they can award me for the program. Have you submitted your FAFSA. I am going to google some other grants and scholarships now that I know that I am accepted so I will let you know what I find :)

Thank you Rb8806! Futurehealth, the link allowed me to both accept my space and pay the deposit. So I did! However, I am still pending a letter in the mail which the admissions office told me was sent on the 25th and I never received it.

Oh that is interesting, maybe I will call admissions today and find out what is going on. It says on my communications center that the admissions letter was sent out yesterday or dated yesterday so maybe the link should work by the weekend...thanks for the info Aa1216! Do you live in Miami or are you re-locating like me?

You will probably get it early next week, no worries!! Im so happy for you! I applied to one scholarship but I havent heard back anything, not even saying they got my application. Im googling scholarships for sure! lol. I submitted a FAFSA ages ago but under the student center I cant view my aid yet. I am considering going to see a financial adviser sometime next week so I can put my mind to rest !

I will continue living off campus with my family. But I will ask around if any friends need roommates for you!
