Does anyone recommend a certain instructor for Micro at SPC? Please let me know if you have any advice.

while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

  1. it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.
  2. while allnurses.com is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
  3. please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.

it is better to communicate this type of information via private messages. members can send pm's once they have 15 posts.

Hi, just got your message. Yes, I took it online. If you can get private messages I can let you know with who. It was pretty easy. All the quizzes are untimed, however none of the answers are ever that easy to find. It definitely takes a while to do each of the 10 questions. Her midterm is the same way, but you will have plenty of time to find most of the answers. I ended up with an A in lab, and B in lecture. I did no study for either of them ever. Good Luck.

Also, I used the old edition micro book (found it MUCH cheapter) and it worked perfect. The instructor told me it was pretty much the same.

I plan on taking Micro online over the Summer. I guess I need to have 15 posts before I can private message...I'll be in touch. LOL

I wouldn't take micro online during the summer session. There's a lot to learn and to me the summer session is just too short for both the lecture and lab. I did take A&P II lecture and lab over the summer at SPC...wow..talk about intense.

itemejuli - how many other classes were you taking along w/ A&P II? Also, do you work? I'm just trying to gauge how much I can handle working full-time.

This is my 1st semester...taking Intermediate Algebra and Psychology...feel like I spend the majority of my free time/weekends on just these two classes. I don't want to overload myself and have to drop a class.

When I did A&PII I was working full-time. The class was on Sat mornings from 800 til 1130 for lecture followed by lab at 1200 til whenever we were done. Yeah, my life revolved around work and school.

Def don't overload yourself with classes. The A&P and microbiology classes have labs which require lots of study time. To get A's in these classes you need to devote a good 8-10 hours a week of study time for the lecture and another 3-4 hours a week to the lab.
