SCF Fall 2014 ADN Program

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello all :) I just wanted to start a thread for those of us applying to the Fall 2014 ADN program at State College of Florida. :)

Did anyone call DR Sue for the Selfy test ? What is about ?

I know this post is old but I am currently finishing up my pre reqs and was just trying to get some insight on how things were going for those of you who got in, and how the process was? I'm shooting to apply for the Fall 2016 program.

I just wrote this huge comment, back-paged, and lost it! UGH lol. I am currently in Level III. Things are going well. I was in the first class of a brand new curriculum and things were crazy! the teachers had to learn a new curriculum too and it made and already stressful new program even harder, but I think things have settled down since August 2014 :)

I have been at Englewood Community hospital for clinicals for all 3 levels and LOVE it there! Don't let others knock it down ;) As far as getting in, it didn't hurt me or a few others to furnish letters of recommendation from prior professors in our application to the program. Once you get accepted, be preppared to spend some money. Uniforms, vaccinations, drug tests, background checks, about $1,300 for the book bundle, and other expenses. If you do not have records of your childhood vaccinations, I suggest getting your titers drawn now. One less thing that you'll have to do later. One other piece of advise is that if you get accepted wait until May to get your physical! LOL I got accepted and ran to the doc for my physical and then in Level II it expired in April and I had to rush back to get it while in class in order to finish the last week of class! That sucked. I will have to do that again in Level IV too!

Good luck to you Jennifer!! Any other questions?

Hi, Olivia! I came across this thread doing a search for SCF and was hoping if you see this you would answer some questions for me :)

I'm applying to both FSW and SCF in the fall... I've got a fairly good idea about FSW's program since it's where I've done all my pre reqs. What's SCFs schedule like?? I would be applying for Venice campus. I like the idea of how they do I,II,III,IV.. Do you still have separate classes within each level or is it all taught collectively? Also, where are other clinical sites besides ECH? I would really hate having to drive hours for early AM clinical. ECH is only about 40 mins for me.

I wont completely inundate you with questions right now, so I'll stick with those three :)

Specializes in LPN.

I posted a thread for SCF student about the schedule. I work A LOT of hours at work and I am trying to prepare for the nursing schedule for Spring 2017.

They do all of the subjects collectively in one class for each level.

The clinical sites change each semester, but we have had Desoto Memorial, Venice Regional, Doctors Hospital, Sarasota Memorial and yes ECH.
