relocation

I am considering relocating to Florida, friend suggested Clearwater. Currently working in elderly rehab on the isle of Man. Any communication, advise would be appreciated.

Depending on where you are in Fl., it can be "Back Woods" and then it can just as easily be "Snobby City" or whatever you might want to call it, just depends on where you are, who you are, what you want, and what you expect.

Traffic is horrible almost anywhere you go, especially when the "snowbirds" (I have more colorful terms for them) are here. The school system does suck here, Im glad I dont have kids and if I did I wouldnt want their primary education to be completed in this state. A little advice though, when you live here, everyday life is NOT a vacation. A word on the beautiful Florida Keys...if you dont drink, party, boat, fish or dive...DONT go...you will not be happy there.

I assumed that Florida was the only southern state that did not have an "Old South" Mentality....was I wrong?

I did not plan on living in any city higher than Ft. Lauderdale/Miami...is that still prevalent down there?

In some areas South FL is more advanced than other areas and in some areas South FL is still "Old South". We still linger behind when it comes to the school system.
