Places to work in West Broward?

Forgive my double post if you have seen it elsewhere, but I have not got any responses, though admittedly, the place I posted this was OT for my question....

I am set to grad this year. I will be moving back to Coral Springs to work (not a first choice, but soon to be married life and family obligations are taking charge of the decision making process for now).

I was wondering if there was a decent place to work in West Broward? I guess I would like to bike to work (I did this before when I lived/worked there) and not work at a place that I completely hated. I have heard a lot of good about Baptist, and if it really is that much better to work in, naturally I would make the commute, as I see they don't operate in West Broward. I have no work experience. I would love to hear if anyone has had some new grad experiences in these areas.

Thanks bunches. I am pretty excited/scared. Of course, I gotta pass the NCLEX first, not to get too far ahead of myself. :rolleyes:

I went up to Broward CC for school, and was up in broward all the time. I can tell you that Memorial Regional Hospital has many facilities to choose from. So I would suggest to go to their website, and apply for a job there. and keep studying for that nclex!

I did my preceptorship at holy cross and thought it was a great hospital, it's also magnet.

Thanks for the response. I am a little hesitant about the year commitment as well, but if I am assured some new learning and perhaps some movement capabilities to other wards/shifts/specialties, it sure does not sound too bad. I am so eager to get back to work and get going on this new career, that I am a little worried I might take the first thing offered, without looking into it too carefully, so I am trying to sort out a game plan before I am starstruck with the first place I apply.

Also, as you say, if the nbhd isn't bad, I guess I could do worse, and I really would love to be local, I would be a stones throw from coral springs med center. Commuting is not my thing, especially in SO FLO.... Thanks again for the tips and advice!!

sorry about that, i just cleared it out. also, if you ever got tired of coral springs medical center and wanted more experience you could transfer to broward general and still have all the same benefits

what unit did you do your preceptorship on? how many pts to a nurse?
