Can please tell me the nurse to patient ratio in fortlaudale.

Specializes in LTAC, Wound Care, Case Management.

Depends on where you work. LTC you will have more pts than you will in an acute care setting.

Can you please give me an idea of exact numbers....1:? and as much setting as possible. Also how about your current area...what is the ratio.....

Specializes in LTAC, Wound Care, Case Management.

I live in the Tampa area. I work in LTC and the ratio is 1:30. I've interviewed for (and am hoping to get) a position in LTAC and the ratio is 1:5. Just depends on what type of facility you work in. If you work in Assited Living, most residents are able to care for themselves, and I've seen postings on ratios of 1:50-60. Just depends where you work.

If you are concerned with having too many patients be sure to ask in the interivew what the nurse to pt ratio is. Ask what happens if someone calls in, do they replace that person or are you expected to accept more pts. That's the best way to find out what the nurse to pt ratio is.

Thanks you gave me a lot of information that I will have to think about...

In broward county at my hospital the ratio can range anywhere from 1:6-8 on a med/tele floor:crying2:
