Hi I am a college student and I have an exploration paper due next week. So I need to interview a RN as part of my paper. Please reply if you are interested!! ASAP THank you..

Here are the questions

1. What experience or knowledge is required to do your job?basic nursing knowledge, signs and symptoms of respiratory distress, s&s of internal bleeding, if any of the ABC's are compromised--is important

2. What types of projects, assignments or deadlines must you meet each day?there are no projects, but whatever is ordered must be done, for example if there is an xray ordered, you make sure it gets done, if they have physical therapy ordered, you make sure it is done-- so basically you are overlooking that orders are done, and if it is something that you can do you do it, like blood tests, you do that, changing a dressing twice a day you do it, if the patient came from surgery and they are not peeing after encouragement, you call the dr and get orders for a normal saline bolus or a urinary catheterization depending on the assessment you do on your patient.

3. Does your job require overtime and what is your work schedule?3 twelve hour shifts, no overtime is not requied, they can ask you if you want to do overtime, and you can refuse or accept.

4. What is a typical entry level salary for this field?you have to look in salary.com because it depends what state you live in.

5. What preparation or courses did you find necessary or helpful upon entering the job? What was your major in colllege?pre-nursing in AA, then nursing ASN, and now nursing RN-BSN

6. Can you suggest some ways a tstudent could obtain this necessary experience?

what is a tssudent??

and what experience??

nursing experience comes to you after you get your RN license--

Here are some more questions I would like answers to. Thank you for your time I really appreciate it. Can you please tell me what is your place of employment, like do you work in a hospital or clinic. etc.

Can you suggest some ways a student could obtain this necessary experience to become a successful nurse?

What is the biggest challenge you encounter?

What advice would you give someone who's thinking about entering this career?

Can you suggest some ways a student could obtain this necessary experience to become a successful nurse?hmm.. maybe volunteer at a hospital-- help feeding patients, wheel patients to their car-- if at a pediatric hospital ; play with children

What is the biggest challenge you encounter? no challenge really. it's basically about common sense, and you learn how to be a nurse in school, and when you get to the real world , you get your experience and you learn from your own personal experiences

What advice would you give someone who's thinking about entering this career?

make sure that it is what you really want to do. you really have to want to be a nurse. because you are in the front line when it comes to taking care of the patients-- something goes wrong and you don't do something about it, it's your fault.
