I see that everyone is taking CPR classes and getting shots done, Do we need to get these things done now or wait until Nov when we meet and they give us more information in regards to what they want and papers that need to be filled out by doc for records?
It wouldn't hurt to get your CPR class done and out of the way. I personally choose to get my shots done now and not worry about trying to get a apt with the holidays coming up. For me, its just less stress with 4 kids and husband traveling.

Pretty much same here. I work in the Medicare field, so November/December are very busy for me, so i'm doing whatever I can while I have the time. Just 1 vaccine left (tdap), which i'm getting Saturday. After this I should only need the physical and varicella titer.

Couple family members wanted some new scrubs on Sunday, so I tagged along and tried some out. You ladies have it so good as there's so many nice options for you to choose from. Us guys have a tough time, most are "unisex" which seems to mean, "woman's scrubs that are plain enough for a guy to wear). The few men's that fit well don't seem to be available in HCC colors. Looks like i'll be spending $65 a pair on Grey's Anatomy scrubs as they were the most comfortable available in the right colors.

JodypRN posted the link on page 63. I believe the next class is on November 5. Yes, the schedule is on the site and you can sign up and pay there too. It costs $25.00 plus a $3.00 lab fee. I just went to the one on October 1 and really enjoyed it.

The next two CPR classes with HCC are Nov 5th or Dec 3. Both classes are on a Monday from 5pm to 9pm. Is anyone interested in attending either session?
I am going on November 5th.

I went to Scrubs N Stuff and bought Klogs Mission leather nursing shoes with closed toe and heel. They are very cushy and I liked them better than the Timberland Pro Reneva (and cheaper!) If you sign up online as a member then you can print a 20% off a single item coupon. It saved me $18 on the shoes. Not all Klogs styles fit the same, though. Just be aware if you order them online.

My $38 check have not been cleared yet. I dropped in the same box I dropped my application form for the program. The box that is right next to the admission office. Is anyone else worried for that as well as I'm???

My check was cashed on the 27th of Sept and I dropped the application off on 17th. I am sure it is taking awhile with all the appilcations coming back before the deadline.

I get all my shots done at the base and since they didnt have a copy of my childhood shots record I had them evaluate it. Once they input the info in the computer it determined that all I need was the Tdap which as an adult you get every 10 years and the flu shot. I asked specifically that since I would be doing clinicals at the hospital and around patients who have different things what else should I get. They couldnt give me an answer and said to wait until orientation when they let you know for sure. But as of right now I am up to date on shots and this is what I have:

    DTap (4)
    Hep B (3)
    Hib (1)
    IPV(5)
    MMR(2)
Varicella (1) - unless you had the chickenpox which I did as a child so I didnt get the shot but its documented on the shots record as non susceptible
Tdap - adult every 10 years
    Influenza - once every year

Is anyone elses shot records different than mine?
