I am finishing up everything needed to get into the AFSU and was wondering if any of you out there were planning on applying? Or if there were any of you out there that were currently in the program or graduated from the program and could tell me a little bit about it....hours & such. I have 3 girls under the age of 4 and this is something I really want, so my hubby & I are doing everything we can to prepare for a really hard year, but know in the end it will be worth it! I read a few posts from 2009 & 2010, but was wanting more current information:nurse:

Hi:

I don't have a lot of info about the program because I also recently applied for Spring 2012. I do know the HESI A2 exam is no longer a requirement, and a competitive GPA is 3.5 (according to the admissions officer) .

I'm currently taking my last prerequisite - pathophysiology.

Good luck!

Specializes in SICU, TICU, CVICU.

How is Pathophysiology? I am debating taking it in summer. I have to finish AP 2 and Chem this summer but am worried I won't get in FSU even though I did my undergrad there a few years ago.. My gpa is around a 3.5 in sciences but I've heard horror stories about Path so I don't wanna waste $$ on it if I don't even have a chance of getting in! Ugh!

I am planning on applying to the absn program at fsu for spring 2012. I had a 3.7 as a finance major from St. Johnn Univ in NY. I still have to take chem and patho in the fall. I have a 3.85 for my prereqs for fsu so far. Apparently its a really competitive program. Does anyone know of any other schools that are 12 or 16months and start in January? I want to to have backup but it seems like most other schools start in Summer or Fall....

I am taking Patho right now and it isn't all that bad. I am taking it online and it just has a ton of information that I am having to learn in only 8 weeks, so lots of work, but other than that not too bad!
