FSCJ SPRING 2015

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello, everyone!

Since no one has started a Spring 2015 for FSCJ Nursing, I thought I would start it. I plan on applying the beginning of September I will take the exam in august. I'm very nervous of course. I have a preq gpa of 2.87 but I have an overall gpa of 3.23. Has anyone heard that FSCJ has changed their entrance exam to the HESI A2? Anyone applying to FSCJ hoping to get accepted for the spring?

Reading alot of these post trying to catch back up and I'm super worried :/ I took the HESI test again Friday and went up a couple of points to 86%. I don't really think I can get much better on it but I will be applying with a 180.3 without microbiology. Reading all of these people have 190+ has me a little bummed but if I don't get in this spring I hope I'll have a better chance in the summer. FYI anyone with a 200+ you are pretty much guaranteed a spot as long as everything else in your packet is correct. Turning in my packet tomorrow so I wish us all the best of luck!

I wish you the best of luck as well.

Do you have any work experience Samantha?

Samantha... I turned in my packet on Thursday and she gave everything back to me except my transcripts, my CPR card copy, my Hesi score, and the page from the application that has my name and address on it. She said that Cheryl doesn't want all the other pages and for us to keep them for our records. And I stressed so much about filling it out properly. Also...as of Thursday they had not had as many people turn in their applications as they have in the past by this time. I think all the changes kept some from applying...

I also sent my application today and I too spoke to her on the phone and just the page 18 and 21 need to be turned in beside transcripts and CPR copy.

I do have work experience as an MA but not a whole year worth for it to count as points. I received my MA through FSCJ in 2013. That sounds like some good news with few applicants I hope.

hey Samantha or anyone who can shed some light on this. For the hesi exam do we take all 9 sections on the test or only the 4 sections mentioned in the packet? I am confused because at Kent it seem like you have to take all 9 sections of the test. Now if you do, do you have to pass all 9 sections or will the nursing program only focus on the math, a&p, reading comp and bio sections? Do you have to pass all sections and get and overall score off 80% or more or it doesn't Matter if you failed a section just as long as you pass the 4 sections needed for admission? Please help, my last chance to take this test is tomorrow and I want to have a clear head of what to expect. THANKS ALOT IN ADVANCE GUYS!!!

You ONLY take the 4 sections they require. It doesn't even give you the other sections to take. What percentage you get from each section will average out your final score then you will times it by 1.2 which will give you your points from the HESI test that you will add to your points from your grades to give you your final score to apply. Hope that helps!
