Hi all! I applied to Florida Hospital Orlando GN program fall '13 a couple of weeks ago and my application status has been "under initial review" ever since. Has anyone else applied? Heard anything from them? The anticipation is killin me

I applied to the GN program for Florida Hospital in Orlando (and the Children's Hospital) last week. A few days after submitting my app, I received an email asking me to fill out questionnaire. I did so, and the next day I received an email asking me to put in four references. I also got a call from HR. It was a Friday, so I have not been able to communicate with them since. I plan to call them tomorrow (Monday) to follow up.
On the website, under "My Submissions" of "My Jobpage", I don't see an application status area. I see a "Submission Status", which is complete, as I entered in all of my reference information today. Also, the number for HR which they asked me to call back is (407) 200-2303. You may be able to find out more information regarding your application. Hopefully this helps in some way! Good luck!!
Thanks a lot for the info! It looks like you have been preselected and you should have a phone interview sometime soon! Congrats!! For me there is still no change in app status and I haven't heard from them yet I have a good gpa but I only have an ADN and no healthcare experience so my chances of getting in are pretty slim. What about you? Are you a BSN?
I have my BSN and i've worked in a hospital as a nursing assistant for over a year now. I also have ACLS certification as well. I tried to do everything I could to increase my chances of getting a job quickly after I graduated! Lol.
Anyways, I talked to HR today. They asked me a bunch of questions, basically verifying what I put on my application. The last question she asked was how I would carry forth the principles of working at a faith-based hospital. When you get to that point, be prepared for the curveball.
Oh wow you did great! Very thoughtful. I tried getting a cna job while in school but Miami hospitals didn't want to hire me because I was "overqualified" and they knew that I would leave when I graduate I just registered for my acls/pals for next week, hopefully that would help with landing a job!
Thanks for the info again! I hope you get the job you want!! Keep me posted.

My name is Jonathan and I was recently offered a new grad position in the ER department at Florida Hospital - Orlando for their Feb/March 2014 cohort.
I currently live in Los Angeles, CA and I am having a hard time finding a good place to relocate near the hospital.
The hospital address is 601 E Rollins St, Orlando, FL 32803.
Do any of you know a good place to live near the hospital or is anyone else from out of state that is in the same position that I am?
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks again!
