I've got an interview Wednesday!!! It's at Florida Hospital in Lake Placid. I know Florida Hospital in general is a great place to work for, but does anyone know anything about this location???

Any info would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Can you believe they actually offered me the job?! Two days after I finally got an interview for the PEDs position in Tampa, no less. Of course I had to accept. I couldn't turn down a job offer as a new grad in this economy. Slated to start orientation at the end of the month. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting to hear if I got the PEDs job in Tampa, which is where we would really like to move to.

Then this morning, I got a call to interview for the RN residency at FL Hospital Carrollwood in Tampa on the PCU unit. (doesn't PCU fall under critical care?) Which I've heard is a good unit to start in to eventually get to ED.

So, in the last two weeks, I got a job in one of my top two choice units, in a place we really don't want to move to, waiting to hear about another job in my other top choice unit where we really want to live, and now I have an interview for an OK unit where we really want to live.

After months, everything's suddenly happening at once. And I'm looking for places to live in both places!

I feel like my head is going to explode!!! Had to vent!

Oh wow that great! I'm honestly really happy for you, but sad for me because I'm still in the rat race. Well I'm glad you took the job! And your right in this crazy nursing world anything right now is good. I'm still trying. I got to the second step with health south treasure coast but I m still waiting to hear about the other steps but its just a waiting game. I am not 6 months searching. Any places to advice me to apply too. I would really like to be in ED some day soon.

@campercass I just started the residency at florida hospital and I love it! Congrats on the position. Just remember you can always transfer to a Peds unit after you get a little experience! You gotta start somewhere.

FH Tampa? What unit? Whats it like? My classmate that was hired at FH orlando is loving it there too! My interview at FH Carrollwood is Monday for pcu. PCU isn't really my top choice, but I'm really getting excited about it. We sooooo want to move to Tampa!!! And I've wanted to work at Florida hospital since I started nursing school and started researching hospitals in the state.

What was the interview like? The hr person who called me said they are only interviewing on Monday, and we should know by Friday at the latest. She was a lot more straight forward about the hiring timeline than what I'm used to. I hope that's a good sign. Its a may 6 start date.

I know I do have a job already lined up, but this would be so much better, even if giving up the ER position at the other division.

Tips, I need tips to ace the interview!!! I thought I aced the PEDs one but didn't get it, so now more unsure of my interviewing. And I want to know all about the residency!! Lol

I'm so freaked out and stressed right now, I didn't even say congratulations on the position! I'm sorry. Congratulations!!!

Well, never did hear from Tampa about the last interview, so the decision is out of my hands. What a relief! We would rather have moved to Tampa, as my husband will do much better there, but part of me is secretly pleased that I didn't get it. I have always wanted to work in the ED, and that was for a PCU position. I really don't mind small town life, but it will be rough on the hubby and daughter. AND I get to work in the ED! Just going to have to adjust and make the most of it. I just hope I don't disappoint them after they've decided to take a chance on me!

Now to try to find a place to stay for a few weeks, until we find a home for when they join me. Hotels will get expensive fast. Anyone in the area, or know of anyone in the area with a room for rent?

Rentals are easier to find, especially since many of the snow birds are heading back north.

Please research the schools first. Many people prefer the Sebring schools to the Lake Placid schools. Just keep that in mind. Congrats and good luck!
