Finally Applied

U.S.A. Florida

OK...I've been trolling and asking a few questions here and there, but I'm sooooooo nervous. I just finished the application process for Nova Southeastern for the fall class. I read on someone else's thread that they interview all applicants, but I'm wondering how long do I wait before I call to set up an interview? This is the only BSN program I'm applying to and pretty much have my hand committed to this pot (for those that play poker you understand.)

I'm nervous and just hope all my hard work w/ my 4.0 pre-requesites and a not so stellar 2.9 undergrad will get me in. Any good vibes would be appreciated.

oops...I thought this was fingers crossed...

KAD 24, I also applie to Nova around the same time you did. I just recently recived a call for an interview day. My interview is in two weeks.

THat's awesome!! congrats!!

In the interview answer all the questions, and if you are unsure what to answer, take a second and think of something that you've seen.... that's what I did and it went well for me.

my chem classmate did not answer one question and she did not get it.

Waiting4school, you said you were accepted with a 2.9 gpa but 4.0 in pre-reqs? Just wondering, and you may not know the answer, but did you know lots of students in that situation? I have around a 2.9 collectively, not just from the past two years in college but to the equivalent of another year and a half in high school... I messed around back then even though I KNEW I was taking classes for college credit. Anyways I will mostly have a 4.0 or close in science pre-reqs... do they look at those more closely? Also I have a ton of extracirriculars, etc. will that count for a lot? You might not know the answers to any of these lol. Sorry for all the questions... I just recently started looking into BSN programs and am VERY interested in Nova. Just wondering how much of a chance I may have. Thanks for any info you might have. I know you might not be able to get back to me soon or answer in that much detail because most of your time is probably taken up by :nurse: school, but I would appreciate any answers or advice whenever it is convenient for you to give it. I will hopefully be applying for Fall of next year if I do end up applying.

BumblebeeRN, I know you went there too so feel free to chime in if you know any of the answers to these questions. It sounds like you really loved that program! I'll be honest, I was still iffy about Nova until I read your posts. You make it sound like the perfect school! They should pay you to advertise for them! Lol. Thanks in advance for any info or advice you might have.

I honestly think that they look at your overall GPA and not just pre-reqs, because my science classes grades were not great. I had C's in A&P, had to repeat chemistry----

I even didn't think that they would take me in the RN-BSN program at FIU because of my past grades. and at FIU they asked me if I was planning to do a master's degree--- I don't want to now, but if FIU takes me in, maybe I will!! ($259/credit for masters!).

I think that your interviewing skills, and your writing skills will help you getting in the NSU program--- it helped me!!

I am just not a good memory person-- and advanced A&P was all about memory and remembering the concepts on the way things work out.... I did well in the others
