Does anyone knows if a 3.29 GPA will make it to the fall nursing program?

sad.pngI'm a little depressed after reading other people's post. I seriously hope i can make it to the nursing program this the fall. Unfortunately, I'm not a HOSA member so that won't help me any.

Depends on how many students apply. Good Luck.

I hope i can make it to the program this summer. Hopefully the student decides to apply to some other program.

u never know... you can still apply though. 3.29 is a really good gpa, but since there still is not enough room for more students to be accepted, most schools go strictly on gpa from a 4.0 down until they are full. You also have a chance of being waitlisted if someone does not show up or denies acceptance. I applied to several schools in 2007 and thought I was set for Nova because their gpa requirement was only a 2.75 and I had a 3.24. But, i didn't get in. After a few denials and one wait list that later became a denial, I started calling and speaking to the dean of nursing for a few colleges to ask what my chances of getting in were, the average gpa of those accepted and so on. I got tired of wasting money on application fees and it became very expensive. Say for instance, I called FSU, because their minimum was a 3.0, but when i talked to the dean, she told me that all students accepted the previous term had no lower than a 3.6:no: so, in my opinion, there was no reason for me to apply! However, i did get accepted somewhere I wasn't even considering, but it all worked out for the good. You will get in somewhere even though it may not be your first choice. Don't be discouraged! You'll be fine.:)

It depends on the applicant pool? However, if BC or MDC in South Florida, I doubt it. However, there is always the LPN route or private school. I know that BC cut off for this Jan 09 program was around 3.4 and 3.3 for alternates. However, never give up.

Im in the same boat! I have a 3.34 ALL CUM and a 3.59 program gpa. Of course they go by the all cum :(

I feel like Im working towards nothing. I have straights A's in sciences except for one B in Chem Lab..the all cum gpa is figured in with classes that i took that have NOTHING to do with nursing! ie macro economics and political science!! I feel like no matter how hard I try, its pointless..unless of course I get on Keisers waiting list and pay way too much for an associates degree. I sent in my app for Barry (im waiting for my rejection letter soon), and Im going to send in my app to MDC soon..ok done venting

Futurern1976: with your program gpa of 3.59 you will absolutely get in at Broward College in Broward County. Their prerequisites are Beg. Algebra, AP1 and 2 with labs, English 101 and that is it i.e 14credits. They also would like you to have complete the BLS 75 or 90 hour program, CPR and that is it. If you have these credits, you are still within the deadline to apply for the May 2009 class so you may want to check into their progra. The South Campus in Hollywood would be the closest to you.

I don't think that you have a problem.

Thanks ^^ I'm currently enrolled in AP II which would be my last pre req. I read somewhere in the BC website that you have to have ALL reqs completed before you can apply. The semester is over May 1st at MDC so I wouldn't make the deadline for BC :(

Too bad but you can apply for the Fall. Don't fee bad, I will be finished with all ofmy prereqs this semester May, and when I apply in May, it will have to be for the Jan 2010 program as the time between application deadline and start dates are at least 6-7mths. It is not that bad for you guys at MDC or BC. You will be able to apply for Aug 2009.

What school are you applying at?

My number1 choice is Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Fl. I am hoping to get into their evening/Saturday prgrom as I have to work. I will also be applying to St Petersburg College in St. Petersburg ( a bridge separates it from Tampa), however, their evening program is a joke. It says starts at 3pm - 11pm but may start as early as 1pm. How is that evening.

HCC's start at 5-8pm 2 nights a week and then a 10hr clinical on Sat.
