Chamberlain College of Nursing in Jacksonville

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I just got accepted from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Jacksonville, FL. After being on JU's waitlist for 3 semesters and UNF's waitlist for 2 semesters I am so excited to start in October. The tour of the school was incredible, much nicer than JU or UNF. I would have to say its going to cost to attend (same price as JU) but the equipment and tools they have are amazing! I was just wondering if anyone is attending Chamberlain now? How is program? Do you like it?

Thanks!

Lyndsey

It's the same as JU? How much does it cost to attend? Are they accredited? Ive been thinking about chamberlain but I want to have as few student loans as possible

Chamberlain is fully accredited. I plan on transferring back to UNF for the nurse practitioner program once I receive my bsn. It turns out to be about 8,000 a semester... I'm not quite sure how i'm going to pay for it yet that is my next task before october. The tour was pretty amazing. If anything they are awesome there, you should go take a tour and just talk to an admissions rep. I worked with Jaye Jarrett she was awesome. Good luck! Let me know how it turns out!

I am in my second senester at Chamberlain and I absolutely love:heartbeat it and have no regrets! The staff is very student focused and the small class size makes for a pleasant learning experience. The lab resources are above and beyond what I have seen/heard are available at the other nursing colleges in J'ville. The curriculum is not easy (I don't think nursing school is supposed to be), but students help each other and the staff is very availabe to help, as well. It IS expensive, but I am very satisfied with my education.

Thanks!!

I am 21 and only receive around 3000 from the government per semester in loans (not grants). I had to come up with an extra 5000 a semester to attend, which is where I took out a private loan through Sallie Mae. It's a lot of money but it seems to be an amazing school.

Mom2Chaos,

In october I will be starting but I already have most of the prereq classes completed, so in Feb I will begin my clinical and assessment classes. Are you in school everyday?

Thanks!

If its 8k a semester thats actually cheaper than JU. Do u know if they'll accept pre-reqs from other schools?

Yeah they do accept prereqs...from when i met with an advisor..she said all my classes would xfr except maybe my speech class..bc it was actually about how to prepare to give speeches etc...and she said theirs is a communication class...idk i didn't really ask for more details.....but anyway yeah i will def have to get loans to attend...i just wasn't sure if ill be able to cover all of it or if there is some kind of limit on how much you can borrow to cover classes/books etc...bc my family isnt ablet o help me..im sure they would if they could..but i know im not the only one in that situation so i just was curious how everyone else out there deals with affording school...thanks.:)

how many semesters is the BSN program?

Hello Ladies & Gents,

I too start Chamberlain in Jacksonville in October and I am very excited. I just graduated from FSCJ with my AA. They accepted about 47 credits from FSCJ. Lindsey talk to them again about the speech cause they accepted my speech credits. I look forward to meeting you guys next month. I have to take 3 more pre- req classes the 1st half of the fall semester then the other half I start clinicals.

Also there is a program thru Worksource that will help pay for tuition and your state exam...
