Hey to all,

What would be a good gpa for the nursing program at BC? Has anyone applied to their May 2009 program for the summer? If so, can you please share what your program gpa is? I was reading the website and I was thinking about applying. I initially was going to take a class at BC that I needed at another institution and so I have been accepted to the school and all of that is taken care of. Their deadline is Thursday and I would like to know more before I apply. Thanks to all and have a good one.

Im pretty sure I have the teacher that dropped most of his classes. He kept 2 of them though he got a promotion. he is so far seems to be an excellent teacher, very organized and knows his stuff. I should be finding out about the May program by the end of this month. They normally do not have a May program but they are offering one this year at north campus for just 100 kids. Thats why Im more worried about getting in because normally they accept around 250. We will see though.

3.57 will be good enough, I think that you have an excellent shot. My sister's gpa was 3.57 and she got in for this semester and u're absolutely correct, there were ~700 applicants for 250 slots.

If you go to South campus, watch out for Prof/Nurse G. she seems extra mean but good luck and don't worry. I think that you will be fine.

I know if there is a tie, they look to see how many other Gen Ed classes you have completed and if there still is a tie, they look at the gpa of those classes.

Sassy- his initials are S.O., right? Well that's definitely promising that he is still teaching if at least minimally. I heard good things about him, but then someone I have a class with said she got switched over to another teacher when she had signed up for his class and I was really bummed.

I still think your GPA should be good enough. I just hope that it doesn't get even more competitive than it was for January for the August program (which is when I will be applying). Good luck.

Yes those are his initial Sunraygurl and he definetly is a great teacher. He has his own website where you can get all of the outlines and lectures. Im going crazy waiting for an email to see how my application went.. AHHH

Has anyone gotten there acceptance or declination emails yet for the may program?

Sassygirl-

I was at North Campus today talking with financial aid, when I thought I would ask the Health Sci admissions people what the cutoff GPA was. She told me they don't know that yet because they are still processing apps and that notifications would go out soon (she thought I had applied to the May program). So I wonder what's taking so long. I'm just curious, even though I'm not waiting for a response. I haven't heard that anyone has heard back good or bad yet. But I know that no matter what, you will hear something.

Good luck!

hey everyone, :yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

right now i am at a lost for words because i just checked my email with broward college and i was accepted so i know that others must have received a confirmation. just to confirm it i called and spoke with twanna burnee and she confirmed it. so, good luck to all others who have applied. to be completely honest, i really didn't expect to get accepted since it was a very last minute thing. cheers to me and others for the summer program!!!!!!!!

I said this on another thread but I will say it again......

Congrats!!! (and Good luck, too)

I GOT IN!! Im so excited and nervous.. I didnt know if i was even gonna get in.. My gpa was a 3.57.. BMLEX I will see you soon!

I am graduating with my LPN on April 9th and hoping to sit for my boards soon. I want to apply for the LPN-RN program but I've heard SO many negative things about BCC! Should I even waste my time? I am applying for South campus and all I hear is horrible things about all the teachers in every campus. I even heard that they are harder on LPN's because we are licenced. What do you think??

Don't go to South Campus. I'm there now. Trust me.

Well South Campus has a particularly tough teacher that is extra hard on students. Her initials are K Gam.... /be prepared

I guess all programs at any campus are hard, just read ahead now, review AP, math (lots of people failed and had to retrack for math- not able to start clinicals if you fail the math test), and some fail return demo.

Study the objectives, there will always be at least 2 answers that could be right, u will need critical reasoning skills to figure which is best. Review health assessment youtube clips and relax.

Good luck
