Best Place to work in Miami?

Hi, I am an AD RN with 16 years experience, mostly in labor and delivery and postpartum. For the past year I have been working in ambulatory surgery doing pre-op and phase 2 discharges. I applied for my Fl Rn license last week. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to work? I would love to find a surgery center job, but will consider OB as well. I have 3 kids and will be looking for part time/Prn (where I can get 24 hrs a week). Also any recommendations on daycare for a 3 year old? We will be living in Palmetto Bay and I wouldn't want a commute longer than 20-30 min.

I am an OR nurse in Miami and work really well with my surgical team. Do you plan on continuing your education and obtaining a BSN? The hospital where I am employed requires RNs to have a BSN. With your experience though, I am pretty sure you will be able to find employment in any Miami/Dade hospital. Jackson Memorial is a very large healthcare provider here in South Florida and is currently hiring RNs. If you are fluent in Spanish, you definitely have the edge. Keep in mind though traffic in and around the city - morning, noon and night - is horrendous but the weather year round and the pristine beaches are unbeatable. The food is pretty good too and the inhabitants are friendly and fun. Rent is high and finding a place to park is almost impossible. I guess this is the small price you pay to live in paradise! I wouldn't look at Jackson if you are going to live in Palmetto Bay. The commute would be wayyyy longer than the 20-30 minutes you are looking at. I'd look at Baptist Healthcare System....they have a Homestead Hospital location, and the main Baptist Hospital campus in Kendall. You could take the Turnpike from Palmetto Bay to Kendall pretty easily. Take a look at those two hospitals --- should be plenty of jobs available.

Let me ask about Mt. Sinai in labor and delivery, it says they have a $12,500 sign on bonus?That seems great, but makes me nervous that they are offering that much? What is it like to work there? How much should I generally expect to make per hour as an RN with 16 years exp at any Miami hospital?
